Coast to Coast
March 7, 2010
This past week I was in NYC at The Brick Church (Presbyterian) on Park Avenue. This Wednesday evening and Thursday, I will be at St. John’s Episcopal in Boulder, Colorado. And then next Sunday the 14th will find me preaching at Trinity Episcopal in Santa Barbara, as well as leading their Sunday morning Adult Forum.
One of my favorite comments this past week came from the Associate Rector of Church of the Heavenly Rest (Episcopal) in NYC. She sent an email to her parish after attending an all day seminar with me:
Dear CHR Family,
Just a note to alert you all of a rare treat: a riveting lecture about the four Gospels with Dr. Alexander Shaia.
I promise you have not heard this perspective before about the four gospels and their place in our Canon, but at the end you’ll feel you’ve known it all along because it makes so much sense.
Dr. Shaia has just written a new book, “The Hidden Power of the Gospels” and it offers a renewed level of relevance to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John for TODAY’s Christian. I encourage all to attend! You won’t be sorry.
